Terrazzo Coasters

Date: Wednesday, September 22, 2021
Time: 10am - 1pm
Venue: The Courthouse
All materials provided. Please bring an apron and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit messy, as colour pigments can stain. The artist will bring nitrile gloves for you to wear – if you have an allergy to these, please let us know by emailing sorcha@ruralarts.org so the artist can source an alternative.

Make 2 terrazzo coasters using A1 eco-resin – colour match your coasters to your home décor!

You will be using A1 acrylic resin which has a mineral base.  Learn how to add colour to the eco-resin, mix and make terrazzo flecks.  You’ll be able to experiment with the colours and make lots of different coloured flecks, so that your coasters are unique to you. You’ll then learn how to weigh, mix and pour into silicone moulds – choose from hexagon or circle coasters.  Once the coasters have set, I will show you how to sand and finish them.

This workshop will be delivered by Rachel Goldsmith who set up her business ‘Tawking Point’ in January 2019. Rachel’s workshops are relaxed and informal.  Rachel is based in Catterick Garrison hosts a range craft workshops there and in  Richmond, North Yorkshire.
