Spring Fused Glass

Date: Friday, March 15, 2024
Time: 10am - 4pm
Venue: The Courthouse
All specialist materials and equipment will be provided.
Design and make your own glass panel based on landscape and floral images with fusible sheet glass and other compatible glass products.
The basic skills of scoring and breaking glass will be covered as well as some simple theory of the principles of glass fusing using a kiln. Students will learn the necessary skills to be able to transfer their designs on to sheet glass, marking, scoring and using a number of different techniques to break the glass pieces to fit their designs. Consideration will be given to subject matter, composition and the use of colour to create a design based on spring landscapes or floral themes.
There will also be discussion about how to plan and control the firing process to create the desired effects in the finished piece.

Suitable For: These classes are suitable for all levels, including beginners.

  • Our fused glass workshops can sell out fast so please book early to avoid disappointment. To be added to our waiting list email admin@ruralarts.org
  • Please allow a week for your work to be fired and then returned to you. You will be contacted when this is ready to collect.
  • A pre-order form will be available at each session should you wish to buy lunch in our cafe during your workshop.

  • If you have any access requirements, let us know.
  • There is no parking at The Courthouse except for Blue Badge holders who must let us know they will be needing the space
