Photography Workshop (Wednesday 20th September)
Learn all about digital camera techniques and photography composition to get the best out of your camera and you!
The workshop will begin with a short introduction and presentation. Working with your own camera, we will cover essential techniques for better control in your digital photography, including camera settings and functions, as well as decisions on composition and framing your shots to achieve the photographs you are after.
Your tutor will be Lucy Saggers. Lucy is an artist and photographer based in rural Yorkshire. Though growing up in a city (Oxford), she has always been drawn to documenting rural life. Her work begins with tiny stories of everyday, through which she explores themes of connection, community and belonging, conscious of impressions we leave on each other and the land, and the marks a place leaves on us. The series, Ford of the Sorrel (Bluecoat Press, 2021) examines overlapping lives within her home village of Ampleforth over a ten-year period. The ongoing series, Thatch, documents stories, language, skills and traditions of this ancient building craft.
“Lucy’s patience and clear explanations meant I was able to put my freshly gained knowledge into practice. A most enjoyable day with benefits that will last a lifetime.” (K. Bradshaw)
