Life Drawing Introduction

Date: Friday, February 9, 2024
Time: 10am - 3pm
Duration: 4 hours
Venue: The Courthouse
All materials are provided.
Through a series of short and long poses, Jennifer will guide you through every stage of drawing from direct observation to enable you to successfully draw the human form.
This workshop will introduce you to a range of drawing techniques using line and tone and you will be taught how to achieve proportion and balance through the figure to get you started with life drawing and give you confidence to develop your own visual language.

Jennifer’s drawings, paintings and ceramic sculptures have been exhibited in private and major public galleries across the country including the Mall Galleries London, the New Art Exchange Nottingham and the Usher Gallery Lincoln. She has had solo exhibitions and won several prizes and her work is in private collections in England and the USA.

Jennifer was educated at the Central School of Art and Design in London and won 2 RSA bursaries for design.

There will be a 1 hour break for lunch.

  • A pre-order form will be available at the session should you wish to buy lunch in our cafe during your workshop.

  • We don’t issue physical tickets – just bring your email confirmation or order reference along
  • If The Courthouse opens before your workshop starts, you’re welcome to browse our artisan shop – maybe we stock the artist running the workshop!
  • You’re welcome to grab a coffee of a snack from our friendly café and take it through into the workshop with you
  • If you have any access requirements, let us know.
  • There is no parking at The Courthouse except for Blue Badge holders who must let us know they will be needing the space
