January Artist of the Month workshop: Papermaking and Printmaking

Date: Wednesday, January 25, 2023
Time: 10am - 2pm
Venue: The Courthouse
Please bring an apron or wear old clothing, as printmaking can be messy! You'll also need a plastic bag and something flat and waterproof to rest your paper on. A plastic chopping board would be ideal for this purpose.

Join Joanna, the January artist of the month in our Cafe, to make your own recycled paper and experiment with printmaking on handmade paper using flora.

Within this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn printmaking and paper-making techniques. You will be provided with raw materials to create your paper and also make use of the printing press to create beautiful prints of found flora .
You will be shown how to develop your skills further by receiving guidance on different ways in which to use your paper. You will also be advised on how to reproduce paper-making and printing in a domestic environment.

Your tutor will be Joanna Mills, a local artist who practices a number of different art forms, including paper-making and printmaking. Joanna studies BA Graphic Design and is an experienced facilitator and teacher.
