Join tutor Jo Lawson on this one-day course, learning how to draw and paint floral compositions.

Begining with the fundamentals of drawing flowers we will learn how to observe and capture the essential shapes and details that make each flower unique. Then familiarize yourself with the materials needed for watercolor painting, including different types of brushes, paper, and pigments. Explore basic colour theory and watercolor techniques such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and glazing.
By the end of the day, you will have gained valuable insights into the art of drawing and painting flowers. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this course will inspire you to continue exploring the beauty of watercolor florals in your artistic journey.

Jo completed a degree at Winchester School of Art and worked in the art and design industry before gaining a PGCE and has been teaching for over 20 years.

  • If The Courthouse opens before your workshop starts, you’re welcome to browse our artisan shop – maybe we stock the artist running the workshop!
  • You’re welcome to grab a coffee of a snack from our friendly café and take it through into the workshop with you
  • If you have any access requirements, let us know.
  • There is no parking at The Courthouse except for Blue Badge holders who must let us know they will be needing the space
