Handmade Paper (Weds 17th May)
Date: Wednesday, May 17, 2023
Time: 10am - 2pm
Venue: The Courthouse
Please bring an apron or wear old clothing, as printmaking can be messy! You'll also need a plastic bag and something flat and waterproof to rest your paper on. A plastic chopping board would be ideal for this purpose.
Make your own beautiful sheets of eco-friendly handmade paper, using recycled shredded paper and pulp.
Within this workshop you will learn how to make your own sheets of paper using pulp from shredded wastepaper or natural resources, such as plant and hedgerows. You will combine these together, to create a variety of papers.
Petals, leaves, map scraps and more, will be provided to ass to your paper sheets.
Examples of what you may use your paper for will further inspire you and instructions will also be provided on how to reproduce paper-making in a domestic environment.
Your tutor will be Joanna Mills, a local artist who practices a number of different art forms, including paper-making and printmaking. Joanna studies BA Graphic Design and is an experienced facilitator and teacher.
