During this 4 week course you will explore different types of charcoal. You will try a variety of techniques to gain confidence using this medium.
The workshop will include step by step demonstrations, and you will get individual support in drawing your landscapes, using tone and texture in charcoal. . You will learn more about the unique properties of charcoal and the artworks it can produce. Explore drawing trees, water, mountains and more, to create landscapes
Your tutor will be Jo Lawson. Jo is an artist and qualified art teacher with over 25 years’ experience inspiring and teaching art including, painting and drawing, textiles and printing.
After graduating from Winchester School of Art in 1994 , Jo worked as a textile designer and artist for a number of years before qualifying as a teacher. After years of inspiring creativity in the classroom, she rediscovered her textile roots and now explores her own work combining felt and print, inspired by the landscapes and coasts around her home in Yorkshire.
