Felted Landscapes
Inspired by the rolling hills of North Yorkshire, learn how to design and create a felted version of your favourite countryside view.
In this workshop you will work with artist, Kate Redding, to learn basic needle techniques, including colour mixing, shading, layering and even 3D effects to create a stunning felted landscape.
Created within an embroidery hoop, your felted landscape already has a built-in rustic frame. However, this can be removed and your felted artwork can be framed in a traditional frame once finished. Your finished landscape will measure approximately 16cm x 16cm including the hoop and will be ready to take home at the end of the session.
Based in York, Kate Redding is a ceramicist and felter who enjoys to dip her toes into any type of art she can, preferring the more ‘hands on’ crafts. Due to her background in backstage theatre, she has a creative and innovative way of approaching art and a keen eye to detail in her own work. Her true passion is in teaching others, exploring the different ways that participants experiment with concepts and weave them into their own artistic style. She believes strongly that art is for everyone and encourages everyone to find their passion and run with it; art is meant to be fun after all!
