Fabric Sculpted Fairy Houses

Date: Wednesday, August 16, 2023
Time: 10am - 1pm
Venue: The Courthouse
All materials and tools are provided.

Using fabric sculpting techniques, create your very own magical fairy house for your home or garden.

In this workshop you will work with artist, Abigail Lagden, to learn basic fabric sculpting techniques, and use materials and embellishments to create a magical fairy house for your home or garden.

Sculpted over a large jar, you will be able to twist off the front of the roof and store things inside. There will be lots of different fabrics and embellishments to choose from to create a design of your choice.

Once dry, you will use a dry brushing technique to add colour and shading to enhance the fabric texture and surface detail.

Your finished house will measure approximately 25cm x 12cm and will be ready to take home at the end of the session.

Based in County Durham, Abigail Lagden creates fabric sculptures and mixed media pieces using a wide variety of fabrics, a fabric hardener and an array of other materials. She has a love of all things magical, mystical and fantastical, and this influence is evident throughout her work. Abigail loves to encourage and inspire others to discover their creativity and to develop through experimentation.

Suitable For: Suitable for all abilities. Just bring your imagination!
