Basics for Beginners: Drawing (6 week course)

All materials and equipment are provided, but do feel free to bring along a sketchbook or notebook.

Join us on Friday mornings for this tutor led drawing course, aimed at very beginners, in a friendly, supportive studio environment. 

Learn how to build up your basic drawing skills. You will be taught how to work from observation and the imagination, as well as how to develop shading, tone and mark-making through traditional and experimental techniques. Sorcha will guide students to develop their creativity in this four week course.

Suitable For: No previous experience necessary. The classes are ideal for those who are very beginners.

Other Info:

  • Please note if you have attended the previous drawing course in May/June 2021, this may not be suitable for you, as we will be delivering similar workshops. We will look at delivering a progression for course for both beginners groups from 2021 and 2022, in our next programme.

  • If The Courthouse opens before your workshop starts, you’re welcome to browse our artisan shop – maybe we stock the artist running the workshop!
  • You’re welcome to grab a coffee of a snack from our friendly café and take it through into the workshop with you
  • If you have any access requirements, let us know.
  • There is no parking at The Courthouse except for Blue Badge holders who must let us know they will be needing the space
