Take part in our unique workshop combining poetry and yoga.
In this two hour workshop you will begin the first half of the session with a relaxing and mindful yoga class guided by experienced yoga instructor, Sam Alexander-Vasey.
Sam is a wellness teacher and educator and a qualified yoga and qigong instructor. She is currently undertaking a Diploma in Yoga Therapy with the Minded Institute, an international leader in yoga therapy and mind-body training. She is particularly interested in exploring how yogic principles, practices and lifestyle can be used in the West as a way of creating greater peace, fulfilment, belonging and joy in a world that sometimes feels set up to put these things perpetually just beyond our reach.
You will then be taught a workshop in poetry, under the guidance of tutor Olivia Mulligan. You will learn creative writing skills and techniques as part of the session.
Olivia is BBC Radio York’s Poet Laureate and has taught several writing workshops at Rural Arts. She is also a published author of “Poems on the Gate Post” and “Advice from a Stranger”.
