Art Club 2026–2027: “In Our Community”

“In Our Community” is this year’s theme for Art Club, running from September 2026 to July 2027!

We’re looking forward to a wonderful year of creativity, collaboration and working alongside different communities and organisations across Thirsk and the local area.

Throughout the year, the children will have the opportunity to learn about creative commissions, responding to real briefs and creating artwork with a particular purpose and audience in mind. There will still, of course, be plenty of opportunities for children to create artwork that they can take home and enjoy!

Autumn Term: Herriot Hospice

From September to October Half Term, we will be working closely with Herriot Hospice on a very special project. The children will be creating artwork for the upcoming Moonlight Glow Walk, taking place on Saturday 3rd October.

We are delighted that Jessica from the Hospice will be joining us for our first Art Club session of the new term to introduce the project, talk to the children about the Hospice and give them their creative brief.

We can’t wait to see what the children create and to be part of such a meaningful community project!

Dates are as follows for Autumn Term 1:

Thursdays: 10^th, 17^th, 24^th of September 1^st, 8^th and 15^th of October

Saturdays: 12^th, 19^th, 26^th of September 3^rd, 10^th and 17^th of October

This is a 6-week term from September to October Half Term

Each session is £10 – full term cost = £60

We will then have 2 weeks off for October half term:

Thursday 22nd and Thursday 29th of September

Or/

Saturday 24^th and Saturday 31^st of October

And return for Autumn Term 2 on: Thursday 5^th / Saturday 7^th of November 2026
