With all materials included and each workshop suitable for beginners, our Wednesday morning Taste Of… sessions give the perfect introduction to a range of artistic styles and techniques.
Sgraffito (in Italian “to scratch”) is a decorating pottery technique produced by applying layers of underglazes or coloured slips to leather hard pottery and then scratching off parts of the layers to create contrasting images, patterns, texture and to reveal the clay colour underneath.
Within this workshop you will explore different ceramic skills, including using sgraffito decorating pottery techniques to create your own illustrative platter. You will take inspiration from the beautiful work of artist Kathy King, to create your designs.
Suitable For: All abilities.
