A Taste of Art: Freehand Embroidery

Date: Wednesday, March 22, 2023
Time: 10:30am - 1:30pm
Venue: The Courthouse
All materials are provided.

With all materials included and each workshop suitable for beginners, our Wednesday morning Taste Of… sessions give the perfect introduction to a range of artistic styles and techniques.

Machine Embroidery is the technique of using a sewing machine to create a pattern on a textile of your choice. You can use this to create a very diverse range of patterns and designs, making it a great skill for those who want to express themselves through sewing. This extended workshop will show you the expressive technique of freehand machinery embroidery and how to use a needle to fabric as you would pen to paper. You will also learn how to use your design to create a 3-d textiles piece.

Suitable For: All abilities.

Other Info:

  • Please feel free to bring your own sewing machine along and also let us know if you plan to do so.
  • A pre-order form will be available at each session should you wish to buy lunch in our cafe after your workshop. You can view our menu here.
