A Taste of Art: Drawing Book Illustrations

Date: Wednesday, May 22, 2024
Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm
Duration: 2 hours
Venue: The Courthouse
All materials are provided.

With all materials included and each workshop suitable for beginners, our Wednesday morning Taste Of… sessions give the perfect introduction to a range of artistic styles and techniques.

Have you ever looked at book illustrations and considered giving it a go yourself? Well now you can with award-shortlisted illustrator, Jess Mahy.

This book illustration workshop is a great introduction into the world of drawing for storytelling. In this workshop you will learn about image sequencing and how connecting images can tell a story with no words. By the end of the workshop you will have created your own little concertina picture book and gain knowledge of how to use different elements of an image to create a narrative.

Suitable For: All abilities.

Other Info:

  • Please feel free to bring your own personal drawing resources to the workshop if you wish.
  • A pre-order form will be available at each session should you wish to buy lunch in our cafe after your workshop. You can view our menu here.
