Long Lost Home – Daria Kulesh

Daria’s Ingush Grandmother and Russian Grandfather fell in love. What could possibly be wrong about that? Yet, centuries of oppressive traditions and colonial prejudices left their mark, making their union a scandal. Can love win? Can a wounded nation find peace? Can songs and stories really make a difference?

Daria’s soaring vocals and vibrant stories take us on a journey through the past in tribute to her grandmother, her family and their beautiful but troubled homeland of Ingushetia, deep in the Caucasus Highlands. An uplifting testimony of hope.
