With ‘one of the most distinctive voices in the Yorkshire area’ and a relentless gig schedule, Holly has truly earned her reputation as one of the North’s most respected acoustic performers. York based Holly sings about gardening, the weather, people she knows and just about anything else, and we are delighted to welcome her back to The Courthouse.
Holly Taymar is an acoustic guitarist and singer from York who makes subtly affecting songs, which you can slow dance or have meaningful conversations to.
Through Holly’s early solo beginnings learning her craft at acoustic nights across the UK, since 2004 Holly has delighted audiences with her easy performance style, gentle finger picked acoustic guitar playing and shimmering, beautiful voice.
Her songs observe the simplest details of everyday things, acting almost as a running biography of her life – whilst being so inherently relatable that you’ll finish the song feeling closer to Holly, and perhaps closer to yourself.
Holly performs occasionally in a solo capacity, so this rare Thirsk appearance is one not to be missed to catch the songs in their purest form. Holly will be including original crowd-pleasers such as ‘Toes’ and ‘Home’ from her vast and ever-expanding catalogue of music, as well as some re-worked well known tunes (with a few surprises and bad jokes too!).
