Joanna Mills

Joanna Mills has been making paper and printmaking for many years. She has a Graphic Design Degree which she completed at Manchester Polytechnic and a degree in Geology studied through the OU.

Her recent work which is displayed here has been inspired by her love of geology, evolution, her garden and the beautiful local Thirsk countryside. Exhibited are eclectic examples, which include lobe finned fish from the Devonian era ( 350 Mya ), trees in a hailstorm, daisies from her garden and a selection of her handmade paper – some of which is printed with images from her linocutting and also using local flora . She continues to learn different printmaking techniques through her membership of the Arts Collective at Rural Arts, where she has been a member for just over a year.
