Adam King is a painter, print maker and educationalist who has been painting and exhibiting for the last 35 years with many prestigious exhibitions, artist residencies and work held in public collections. Adam ran the popular Foundation course at Harrogate College for 12 years, and is now the programme leader for the Fine Art degree course. He has always been keen to support and encourage other artists and within this capacity has judged for the Harrogate open, UK Youth and most recently, Platform.

Adam has always worked in and around Yorkshire responding to its diverse landscapes, buildings and its people. Having conducted residencies at Knaresborough Castle, Fountains Abbey and York minster, where he responded to their medieval architecture and ancient processes of drawing and painting. Within the last 5 years Adam has developed his studio in Scarborough and as consequence his work has focussed on the north east coast of Yorkshire, its people, places and traditions.

Adam paints the seaside from the past and present in a unique and moving way. He combines simplicity and sophistication demonstrating a mastery of colour, composition and brushwork.
