Art in Common
Art in Common aims to build the confidence and skills of volunteers, equipping them to reach housebound individuals and support them to take part in meaningful creative activity.
Rural Arts are partnering with Social Care Providers – Community Works (Hambleton), Caring Together North Yorkshire (Whitby and Ryedale) and Support for Carers (Scarborough) to share skills and expertise to reach as many people as possible.
We are going to be hosting 2 information sessions in each focus area (Hambleton, Whitby, Scarborough and Ryedale) and then will be inviting volunteers to work closely with us to shadow, develop and enhance their visits on a 1-2-1 basis.
You will learn…
- All about Art in Common and its background
- How to use creativity across a range of health needs
- How to personalise creative sessions on a 1-2-1 basis
- How to communicate effectively to best engage the client
- How to engage individuals living with dementia in the arts using some of our tricks and tips
