Shibori Slow Textiles Table Runners
(£55 + £10 materials)
Within this workshop, you will be introduced to eco printing using leaves. The artist CarolAnn will guide you through the process of nature-based printing by demonstrating the scouring, mordanting and steaming involved of the fabric. The process is unpredictable and results in a subtle colour pallet suggestive of alchemy and traditional fabric staining. Experimenting with tieing, wrapping and twisting your encased leaf collections into bundles, you will produce a series of samples, working towards creating your own eco dyed silk scarf measuring 150cm x 40cm.
CarolAnn J Allan is a Yorkshire based artist and educator specialising in hand embroidery. She often teaches workshops whilst also exploring English paper piecing, darning, patchwork and reverse applique.
