Join us for a special day at The Courthouse, where we will be hosting educational and creative LGBT themed workshops, in celebration of 🏳️‍🌈LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) History Month 2019.

We will be running an afternoon community session in the Courthouse, (2-4pm) as well as an evening session especially for young people; 25 and under (5-7pm) The sessions will include creative workshops inspired by historic LGBT artists and educational workshops on sexual and gender identity supported by Prouder Communites Yorkshire.

Creative Workshops

(£5 material cost)

  • Try your hand at painting watercolour LGBT Flags overlayed with calligraphy of quotes from LGBT writers such as Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolf and Walt Whitman.
  • Have a go at painting Ceramic Tiles inspired by LGBT artist Keith Haring, which will then be fired and glazed for you to collect and then take home and keep!
  • Create Frida Kahlo inspired headbands made from paper flowers.

Car Parking

The Courthouse offers disabled parking for Blue Badge owners. If you will be needing to use the disabled parking please contact us prior to arrival so we can reserve you a place in our carpark. 

Wheel Chair Access

The Courthouse has wheel chair access into, and throughout, the building. There is a lift providing access to the second floor and disabled toilet.

If you are coming to a workshop or performance please let us know in advance so we can allocate a space for you in the audience or studio.

Carers

If you have purchased a place on a workshop or to one of our performances at The Courthouse and are bringing a carer with you, please let us know when you book your place. Carers are welcome to attend the activity, but if they wish to participate they will need to book a place.
