Discover your inner explorer with crafty creations from across the world!

Create your very own shiny scarab beetle or mini ancient pot, or why not design your very own egyptian cat? Learn how to create pinch pots using clay and join them together using slip, to form the basic shape of your ceramics. Decorate your pieces with our coloured underglaze paints. Leave your creations with us to be bisque and glaze fired and then collect them when they're ready!

Suitable For: Ages 5+

Materials: All materials provided.

Other Info:

  • Please allow up to 3-4 weeks for your ceramics to be fired.
  • When booking ensure that you give us your correct contact details so we are able to let you know when your work is ready for collection.
  • Please note we do not issue physical tickets, please use your email confirmation as proof of purchase.

Our holiday workshops are perfect for the family. We have a selection of activities for you to enjoy and afterwards you are more than welcome to stay for a bite to eat at our family friendly cafe.

Rural Arts is the perfect place to visit with your family. Our cafe is breastfeeding friendly and we also have:

• A changing unit
• Free nappies, nappy bags, wet wipes

• Books and games


Disability Access

Car Parking

The Courthouse offers disabled parking for Blue Badge owners. If you will be needing to use the disabled parking please contact us prior to arrival so we can reserve you a place in our carpark. 

Wheel Chair Access

The Courthouse has wheel chair access into, and throughout, the building. There is a lift providing access to the second floor and disabled toilet.

If you are coming to a workshop or performance please let us know in advance so we can allocate a space for you in the audience or studio.


If you have purchased a place on a workshop or to one of our performances at The Courthouse and are bringing a carer with you, please let us know when you book your place. Carers are welcome to attend the activity, but if they wish to participate they will need to book a place.
