EFSNY: Aged Veterans (2017-2020)

Start: January 1, 2017
End: December 31, 2020
Duration: 3 Years

Ex-Forces Support offered a wide range of advice, guidance and hands-on support to past members of the armed forces over 65.

Supported by the Aged Veterans Fund, Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire rolled out a range of services aimed at raising awareness of the issues faced by older and ex-members of the armed forces, and enabling them to lead fuller lives.

Rural Arts partnered with Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire to provide art workshops to veterans of communities in the region. The workshops allowed veterans to learn new activities or revisit old hobbies and interests. Ex-Forces Support North Yorkshire is a consortium led by Community First Yorkshire, and made up of the following organisations: Age UK North Yorkshire & Darlington, Carers Resource, Citizens Advice, Groundwork, Living Well, North Yorkshire County Council, North Yorkshire Sport, North Yorkshire Youth, RCVA, Richmondshire District Council, Rural Arts, Saint Michael’s Hospice, Scarborough Borough Council, SSAFA North Yorkshire, Yorkshire Energy Doctor, Yorkshire Housing.
