Action Towards Inclusion

Start: January 1, 2020
End: December 31, 2021
Duration: 2 Years

Action Towards Inclusion is a multi-year project that allows a partnership of organisations to connect with people who are furthest away from work and/or training.

These workshops are completely free of charge to people on the Action Towards Inclusion programme.

Some partners, known as ‘key workers’, support people who are furthest away from work and/or training to identify training and other opportunities hosted by ‘intervention partners’ that can help them on their journey. Rural Arts is an ‘intervention partner’, providing ‘creative wellbeing interventions’: arts based workshops that help people to improve their confidence, self esteem, mental wellbeing and employability skills.

Action Towards Inclusion offers flexible support to help adults overcome physical, psychological, financial and skills-related barriers and progress towards employment, training, education and job-searching. It also helps to combat a range of social issues, including poverty and social exclusion.

Funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund, this project is managed by Your Consortium and is delivered by a partnership of organisations in the voluntary and community sector.

Workshops and support across the region

Rural Arts is an ‘intervention partner’ offering our specialist arts workshops to people in Hambleton, Harrogate, Richmond, Ryedale and Scarborough districts.

Through these workshops, we support people to improve their confidence and address challenges with anxiety and low self-esteem, working in partnership with key workers across North Yorkshire.

As an arts organisation with almost thirty years experience, we can offer a range of activities that can be adapted to suit the needs and interests of different groups. Activities can include printing, textiles, embroidery, collage, painting, drawing, felting and ceramics – often a favourite amongst groups.
