Eco-printing with Indigo (August 15th)

The Courthouse Thirsk
Saturday 15th August

(£50 + £5 materials)

Create your own eco-print on cotton or paper using collected leaves in this experimental process. The subtle colour palette is suggestive of alchemy and traditional fabric staining.

This workshop introduces you to eco-printing and guides you through the process by demonstrating the mordanting and steaming of fabrics and paper. The process is unpredictable and results in a subtle colour palette suggestive of alchemy and traditional fabric staining. You will experiment wrapping leaf collections into bundles, and producing a series of samples on cotton and paper.

CarolAnn J Allan is a Yorkshire based artist and educator specialising in hand embroidery. She often teaches workshops whilst also exploring English paper piecing, darning, patchwork and reverse applique.
