Comedy at the Courthouse (22nd April)

Rural Arts Thirsk
Wednesday 22nd April

Laugh your socks off in the company of Yorkshire’s finest comic talents. MC Tom Taylor is joined by Hannah Silvester, Tom Little and headliner Mike Newall.

Age guidance: 14+

Mike Newall
A gentle, amiable power-house of a comic, Mike Newall’s timing is the envy of performers across the UK and is living proof that some people are just funny. Since making his debut in 2003, Mike has written a number of hugely successful Edinburgh shows and has supported Alun Cochrane on tour.

"Perfectly crafted ... pin sharp" - The Scotsman

Hannah Silvester
Hannah Silvester combines frank and honest stand-up comedy with a warm delivery and the occasional comedy song thrown into the mix. With her compelling, often hilariously blunt, delivery, Hannah has reached the finals of a number of competitions including the Birmingham Comedy Festival Breaking Talent Award and the Nottingham Comedy Festival Comedian of the Year Award. 2014 also saw her win the Midlands Comedy Award for Breakthrough Act.

"Brummie charm and extreme likability" - Psychologies Magazine

Tom Little
Brilliantly awkward and gut-wrenchingly funny, Tom Little is a previous winner of the presitigious Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year, an award previously won by acts including Johnny Vegas, Rhod Gilbert and Jason Manford. His last Edinburgh show was nominated for the Amused Moose Comedy Award and he was also a BBC Radio New Comedy Award finalist.

"Inventive, unexpected and often very silly" - Chortle

Tom Taylor
A favourite of live bookers across the UK, Musical Comedy Awards winner and English Comedian of the Year finalist, Tom Taylor, has supported Simon Munnery, John Kearns and Abandoman on tour and performed on Radio 2 and Radio 4 as part of the BBC Radio New Comedy Award.

"Wave after wave of funny ... a genuine joy" - The Scotsman
