Sculpt a small mythical, animal or human head in clay - or book onto both days to work on a larger head.
In this workshop you will learn to sculpt a small head in clay. If you wish to focus on creating a larger head, it is encouraged you book onto our Ceramic Head workshop the previous day on Saturday 26th September. The course focuses on sculpting human heads, but you can sculpt mythical or animal heads if you prefer. If you wish to achieve a portrait or likeness please bring photographs as a point of reference. By the end of the session you will have created your very own clay head, which after approximately six weeks - allowing for drying and kiln firing - will be ready for collection. During the course, various finishing techniques will be discussed for you to apply at home.
The workshop is led by artist Kay Latto, who works from her studio in Yorkshire. Kay has studied at Putney School of Art and Harrogate College and exhibited recently with North Yorkshire Open Studios. Kay was selected in 2018 for the Royal Academy 250th Summer Exhibition where she exhibited her Grayson Perry sculpture.
