Ceramic Heads (3rd March)

Kay Latto
The Courthouse Thirsk
Saturday 3rd March
 (£50 + £10 materials)

"Students will learn to sculpt a small head in clay.  The course is focussed on the human head but other options are possible if required e.g. animal or mythical.  If you wish to achieve a portrait or likeness please bring photographs as a point of reference. Each student will complete a head, which after approximately six weeks, to allow for drying and kiln firing, will be ready for collection. During the course various finishing techniques will be discussed for the student to apply at home.

Artist Kay Latto is originally from Kent but now works from her studio in Yorkshire. Kay has studied at Putney School of Art and Harrogate College and exhibited recently with North Yorkshire Open Studio’s.

Description

Workshops at Rural Arts give you the opportunity to learn or develop an artistic skill in a relaxed, creative environment and are all suitable for beginners. Our tutors are friendly, passionate and have lots of experience and knowledge to share with you. We want your day with us to be relaxed, offering you a bit of escapism and the chance to get to know like-minded people (plus there’s the bonus of getting to take something you have lovingly made home with you!).

Get to know others in the group whilst enjoying a drink in The Courthouse Café before heading through to the workshop to start getting creative! The Café will be open throughout the day for you to get drinks and delicious lunches and cakes. Visit The Courthouse Café page to view our menu.

Please bring an apron.
