Art On Your Doorstep

Art On Your Doorstep

Art On Your Doorstep is a project led by Thirsk-based arts charity Rural Arts, working in partnership with Thirsk Community Care, to encourage older people to engage with arts and culture.

The aim is to enable older people living in Thirsk and the local area to discover or rediscover an interest in the arts by offering opportunities to get involved in a mixed programme of arts and culture, including:

• art & craft workshops
• poetry & creative writing
• iPad art
• music, dance & theatre activity sessions
• matinee live performances

With sessions taking place at accessible local venues, including The Courthouse in Thirsk - and even in participants’ own homes! – it’s never been easier to get creative, whatever your ability level, and find joy in exploring the arts.

If you’d like to find out more about what’s on offer, know someone who might be interested or would like to volunteer to help, then contact:
