Adult's Poetry (Sat 14th November)

The Old Courthouse Thirsk
Saturday 14th November

Gain confidence in your skills and inspire the inner writer within you by taking part in our adult's poetry workshop.

In this workshop you will explore and play with language and rhythm, guided by local poet, Olivia Mulligan. She will share with you her favourite techniques and tips to craft a poem that you can be proud of. This workshop in particular will focus on the theme ‘changing seasons.’

The workshop is led by poet Olivia Mulligan who says, ‘A theme is always a good starting point, but through this workshop we will practise the journey of expressing our own voice and how to avoid the predictable.’

Olivia is passionate about sharing her love of poetic practice with others. She has studied creative writing at Royal Holloway, University of London, and was awarded the departmental prize. In addition, some of her work has been published by Like The Wind and she has had ‘endless fun’ running a series of poetry workshops in a local school. Most recently, poet Ian Macmillan read one her lockdown poems as part of Barnsley Museums "Hear My Voice".
