Work Experience Blog by Jessie Mitchell

Various ceramic objects on a studio shelf

Read this short blog by Jessie on her work experience at Rural Arts where she has worked alongside staff in our cafe and workshops.

I’ve been working at Rural Arts for three days now and each day I’ve learned a new skill or talent.

I now know that I’m pretty good at glazing pots and pretty useless at keeping my leggings paint-free! I’ve made coffee, joined in with a painting class (my trees were pretty impressive) and done a whole lot of cleaning.

All the staff have been welcoming, kind and chatty and have made me feel like part of the team. It has been everything I could have wished for and I’m a little sad that I’m only here for a few days.

If you’re looking for a place to meet new people with friendly staff, a calming atmosphere and occasional witty banter then Rural Arts is definitely somewhere to visit!
