Stained Glass Windows at Marton cum Grafton Primary School

Stained glass artist Jane Littlefield has been working on behalf of Rural Arts at Marton Cum Grafton Primary School.  The school has commissioned 3 large stained glass windows to celebrate its150th aniversary.  Jane demonstrated the traditional art of  stained glass making to the pupils, showing them how to cut glass and make a leaded panel.  The pupils then came up with their own designs depicting school life past and present.

The children’s pictures will be used to create the design for the stained glass windows, and some children will have the opportunity to paint their designs onto glass, which will then be fired and incorporated into the windows.

Jane said “This is a really exciting project to be involved with.  The 3 windows which are in the school hall will look really amazing, as the children have come up with some beautiful design work.”
