Half term saw the culmination of The Big Draw with daily drawing activities for families taking place in the Courtroom at Rural Arts. Experimenting with new materials, observational drawing as well as fantasy landscapes were all encouraged in both monochrome and brilliant colour.
Four boys from Helperby and their parents kicked off the week with a fantastic collection of aliens on a gigantic piece of paper. Starting at 10am they were just adding the final touches to their masterpiece at 4.30. Their large-scale artwork is currently on display in the Courthouse foyer.
Over 100 people participated in the event in our Big Draw activities over the last 6 days and the atmosphere has been full of concentration and laughter!
Next years event will be even better.
Don’t forget on Saturday morning we run two art clubs for children and young people which are aimed at building skills and creativity. We provide a wide range of artist led activities in: drawing, ceramics, print-making etc
