Entertaining the W. I. at The Courthouse

Twenty seven members of Marton-cum Grafton W.I. descended on the Courthouse last night for an evening of cakes and batik,  what a great combination!  After a guided tour round the building and a brief talk about the history of Rural Arts members got stuck into a very productive batik workshop in the Courtroom followed by tea and cakes in the café. This W. I. were a creative lot, none had batiked before and confidently got to grips with dribbling hot wax and applying outrageously bright dyes to their designs.   The results were stunning and in typical W.I. fashion someone suggested a competition, but time got the better of us!
