May Bank Holiday events for all the family

ARTS MARKET AND CREATIVE ACTIVITIES 
May bank holiday weekend for you and your family to enjoy.


Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May
Browse in our arts market featuring up to 15 artists from around the region selling a selection of ceramics, textiles, jewellery, pewter etc. (including Judith Brown, Roma Vincent, Priscilla Jones, Goldmark Gallery and Joe Cornish gallery). Opening hours are 10.00am-4.30pm and entry is FREE. You will also be able to view our ‘Flowerings’ exhibition, part of the North Yorkshire Open Studios programme. Expect to see ceramics, jewellery and textiles that celebrate natural forms in unlikely and gorgeous materials created by Dionne Swift, Judith Brown and Ruth Moore. Why not enjoy a light lunch or delicious homemade cake in our café too! 


Arts workshops on:

28th May 
A jewellery master class led by Judith Brown 
10.00am and 4.00pm.  
Using haberdashery and wires, make your own jewellery with inspiration drawn from Judith’s Vintage Noir collection. 
Cost: £20 plus £5 for materials. 







29th May
Priscilla Jones is running a  ‘Time for Tea’ workshop 
10.00am-4.00pm
Make your very own wire cup cakes or tea cup.  After making a wire structure, create a surface to explore other materials including wax, fabric and lace and embellish with trimmings; you can bring along materials to make your piece personal to you.
Cost is £35 plus £12 materials.

FREE Workshop For children 
aged 12 years and their parents:
10.00am-4.00pm
Making bird and wildlife boxes.  Simple woodworking techniques will be used to create a range of bird and insect boxes using off-cuts of wood and bamboo. This workshop requires some skill and children must be supervised when working with the tools.
