A Taste of Art: Handmade Crackers

Rural Arts Thirsk
Wednesday 9th December

With all materials included and each workshop suitable for beginners, our Wednesday morning Taste Of... sessions give the perfect introduction to a range of artistic styles and techniques.

Use our beautiful range of decorative paper to personalise your own crackers this Christmas, with your own choice of gifts and jokes. Bring in with you a small collection of novelty gifts and notes to give to each family member. Please bear in mind that these will have to fit into a Christmas cracker, so keep them as small as possible!

Please note: As this workshop is only 2 hours, you will only make a limited amount of crackers. The snappers, paper and the knowledge can be taken home so you can make your matching set!

A selection of papers will be provided, however, if you had a certain colour scheme or theme in mind this Christmas, then please feel welcome to bring your own papers. All other materials will be provided.

Suitable For: All abilities.

Materials: All materials provided.

'Taste of Art' workshops are creative sessions that are friendly, informal and good fun and aim to provide an introduction to a technique or art form. Lasting an hour and a half they are run by qualified tutors and artists and aim to give you an insight into a craft and inspire you to do more.

You don't have to be a creative person to take part as the sessions are aimed at all levels and the focus is on experimentation. Most of our sessions use materials and equipment that are accessible and low cost and we always try to provide ceramic activities that utilise our kiln.

'Taste Of Art' sessions will provide you with an opportunity to make new friends and meet up with other budding creatives.

'Taste of Art' sessions run during the school term and a detailed programme is released on this website.

Please bring an apron.
