Come and celebrate with us on Thursday 25th February at the Old Courthouse
in Thirsk as Graham Relton from the YFA showcases some of Yorkshire¹s rich
moving image heritage.

The free archive film screening starts at 6:00pm and includes a
complimentary glass of wine or juice. Enjoy snapshots of North Yorkshire
life captured on film over the past 100 years. Come along from 3pm to browse
YFA Online prior to the screening.

A window onto Yorkshire¹s moving image heritage, through the eyes of its
peopleS

Thanks to HLF support the Yorkshire Film Archive has been working with Rural
Arts and other partners across the region to develop an interactive moving
image website that everyone can enjoy, learn from and contribute to.

At www.yfaonline.com <http://www.yfaonline.com/> you can watch hundreds of
films reflecting Yorkshire life, landscape and culture from the 1890s to the
present day. From mid February 2010 YFA Online will feature an extra 6 hours
of dedicated North Yorkshire footage.

Over the past two years we have been working with communities across North
Yorkshire to select footage to be included online, ensuring that the films
featured are what the people of North Yorkshire want to see.

Are you a teacher?
In addition to YFA Online, the YFA have created YFA Online Learning, an
interactive cross-curricular moving image resource for education
practitioners, it is full of clips designed for educational use. Selected
with the National Curriculum in mind the clips cover a wide spectrum of
historical, geographical, social and cultural content. Teachers can download
and use the films creatively, uploading their own uses and activities onto
the site for others to share.
