Dance:
Rural Arts have a variety of dance teachers and practitioners working on our dance and movement programme. They provide a comprehensive selection of workshops ranging from half day sessions, through to courses lasting for a couple of days for choreography and training leading to a group production. Each session is tailored to suit the ability and experience of the group and a large space such as a school or village hall is normally used for the sessions. The range of techniques on offer cover all aspects of dance including salsa, tango, and tap. Listed below are a few of the most regularly requested workshops
Contemporary Dance:
An informal and fun exploration of release based contemporary dance techniques using the body's natural lines and energy in a fluid and expressive way. These sessions are suitable for all age groups.
Street Dance:
Experience this funky, high energy urban dance form in an informal workshop setting. Build confidence, improve coordination and have fun.
Choreography:
This is an exciting opportunity to participate in devising original dance and physical theatre. Learn how to convert your ideas into polished performances.
Ballroom, Latin and Tango:
Rural Arts can offer professional tuition in various ballroom and latin dances, including the waltz, cha cha cha, rhumba and the tango. These sessions work well as tasters and can be progressed to result in a public performance piece. Suitable for ages 10 upwards.
Music & Movement for Playleaders/Youth Leaders:
Learn new and stimulating ideas for creative music and dance activities for children and young people. This practical and imaginative workshop is designed to inspire and enhance skills in creative play, music and movement.
